Here is an image of my "crenelated" design sink in stainless steel ,in it's surface mount configuration (notice the "foot" welded beneath it).
Needless to say stainless steel is a very resilient material and can stand up to heavy abuse.
For that reason if a client is truly taken with the crenelated shape,and wishes it to be a prep sink in the kitchen,I steer them toward stainless...
