I really like them, it's got a nice flow to them. Like Rick said they change and it still remains neat, works really well. Very inspiring design. » reply more wave railings

Thanks guys, the design went in a different direction and ended up being the railing shown in this entry: http://www.artmetal.com/blog/lynda_metcalfe/2006/11/fluted_volute_scroll_forging but I really wanted to use that wave pattern so will be making this interior rail for the same client in March. The thicker areas of bars are where the panels will overlap and fasten to each other - I am on an 'invisible join' thing at the moment! I really like both designs. The irregular curves and different thicknesses of the elements just make me want to stare at it for hours. I'd love to see picts as you build it and, of course, can't wait to see the finished product. Jake » reply Thanks Jake, the finished

Thanks Jake, the finished railing was finished in June and installed August after the client had had the floors finished, then we were straight on with hand rail brackets, bathroom hardware, door hardware and now a pair of gates for the same clients so just haven't had time to post final pics. I sent in some pics of the 'pre-install' here though: http://www.artmetal.com/blog/lynda_metcalfe/2007/07/wave_tendril_railing Lynda » reply |

Handrail
I like that. The bottom changes, the top changes, it's different, it's neat. I like it.
