Influenced by my friends......

here's the start of the ten foot free form panel, which faces the house and divides the lawn area. My client loves birds and collects them so......
inspired by all my Art Metal friends I decided to put a bird (hopefully looks like a heron type) on either end of the panel.just getting started!!!!Thanks everyone!

I don't know Janet, it looks sort of like an Egret to me.

I thought maybe a

I thought maybe a flamingo,
just kidding! It looks great, I'm always a fan of your work. What do you use to make the bends in something like this?
Keep pictures coming, Mele

Your work always looks

Your work always looks great. The bird suggests goose, swan, or flamingo. A heron has a different head, beak, neck, and legs. I would guess the customer would like any of your work but maybe try looking up pictures of a heron to see how they appear in different field conditions.

Keep your great work coming,

Don

Major Error Caught!!!!

Just when I thought I was doing great....I realized that panel was way too big. I forgot I had added extra length for the in ground posts. EEK!!!! Almost!
Anyway, because I had to scale it down I was able to work on the bird. And although I did look at pictures of wading birds I couldn't get the proper feel. Well in re-doing I actually managed to get my bird to look more like what I intended.
It was a rough day in the studio yesterday...I wasn't focused.
And my handrail capping came at the end of the day ..some of it was bowed.Another order didn't show up yet. And my almost mistake.
Oh well, I hope I can get a better handle on it today.
Thanks for al your comments and support. Janet R.

Stitch In Time....

Hi Janet,
Good thing ya'll caught that boo boo when you did.
I really like your bird. To me it suggest a Swan, but anatomic correctness is mute. Hopefully we'll see your bird further on soon.

Just for those that didn't

Just for those that didn't catch it, an Egret is a Heron. I thought the bird looked fine. :-)
