Looks like you're really covering some ground now. Looks great. From the look of the cut out, you've got a pretty steady hand. Can't wait to see it installed.

Hi Janet, you`re near the best part: finishing to enjoy the look and effort put into the work... I agree with you on lightening the solid look of panel with some openings. Great work. nelson.

great work

Janet, your work is developing really well... you have a good design sense.
Have you ever thought of using TIG instead of stick or MIG ..... you can get small inverter welding sets that have a scratch start TIG torch(I use this on site).... this will enable you to leave most welds as an attractive detail( particularly where it is hard to grind) and the time you will save by not having to clean every weld will soon pay for the equipment.....a TIG will also enable you to play with other metals..many can be joined for decorative purposes- even dissimilar.

Also, the dc quality of the stick weld is far superior in appearance.

Answering questions...

Thanks everyone for you comments and support. Hi Jake! I've been plasma cutting by hand for so long that I manage to cut really clean. That's if all my equipment is working properly.... I do use a guide for the straight cuts.
Hi Giuseppe, when I shared a shop in Brooklyn we had a
combo mig/tig. I used to tig weld but I love that glue-em together migness! Now that we sold our lathe (never used)
I do want to get another tig and also a forge. It's about time!! Something new to play with.
I bend my stock in a Hossfeld bender. It was used so I really need to order new pins and dies....but I make do. Love my bender!!!!I'll post some new pictures after today.
This afternoon ,I have offered my space to the local art groups meeting and I will speak about my work etc.
That means I have to go and clean up the studio soon. See ya!

glue-em together migness

funny but I have always found TIG better for that glue-em together quality.... combined with forging it can make stainless and bronze look as if it has been forge welded ..... I would rather tack pieces together with TIG any day because there is no extra metal ( if you judge it so that one piece has a tiny excess then that becomes the filler ) ... any way I am sure that you know all this ..... I was just worried about the effect of welding upon your pleasing designs .... good luck with the open house .... the last one albert paley did got him a complete metal zoo commission !
