Talking about weaves

This basket weave wall we finished a little while back. It's 15' x 8'. All forged and woven with almost 700 - 1/2" rivots at all the intersections.

This is in the living room with the stair you see leading down to the wine cellar/basement.

This is so cool. There is a 4 X 8 steel grid much like this down the street from my house laying in a yard in front of a house that they are renovating. It looks like a cover for something. I think they are trowing it away and I want it so bad. This picture makes me not feel so bad about that.

Shouldn't there be a gate at the top of the steps? Otherwise there is a big hole in your security. Seriously tho' it is a well done, though labor-intensive job just to keep people from falling down into a stairwell. I still cannot understand why there is no gate.
