Architectural Gallery | ambo | bronze | cathedral | etched | leather ![]() here is a nice detail taken from a pair of ambos that I made for Chelmsford Cathedral ....I just found these shots by chelmsfordblue on flickr. I think I have posted images of the whole piece before ..... this is melted bronze onto a forged steel surface. ambo interior

Hi Giusseppe Thats a really striking effect....both the bronzed steel and the leather. I have just started playing about with coating steel with molten bronze. How are you getting it to bond properly? Are you sand blasting and pre-heating the steel before dipping it into the bronze? Great work as usual. Peter » reply bronze coating

sand blasted and acid cleaned surface ... two torches ..one for pre heating ahead of other which melted the bronze welding rods ....lots of flux to get the textured flow » reply |
