Giusseppe: After the gates were taken down and Peter moved to Pretoria, South Africa and sold them back to me, I sold them to a bookstore in North Phily that had a South facing exposure and they actually created a dramatic effect in that the customers peeped through the spaces between branches to see the books on display. The name of the bookstore was "The Treehouse" and the books seemed more mysterious and valuable when viewed in that way. The gates had been repainted in full color by then and were a strong graphic statement on the street in all weather and lighting conditions. I wish that I had a picture to show, but this is a good opportunity to use your imagination. Nic East, Jim Thorpe, PA USA » reply nice history
