Hi Nelson, thanks for the compliments. Yea, I don't particularly like all of the measuring that's involved with this type of rail, but it is worth it in the end. Lot's of back and forth to the shop. What's crazy about the floor contractors is that they wanted the railing installed BEFORE they sanded it!! I sure wouldn't want to be the poor soul that has to sand around all of those base plates. I've only done it twice and both times I was worried sick that I was going to burn down the house. I finally decided it wasn't worth the stress and now I figure out ways to mechanically fasten the rails together. Jake Balcom » reply |

Very neat work! I can imagine the difficulty to install, well, not to talk about the precision making the rails,so the pair bars fit the right length over the steps. That kind of work could drive a cave man nuts. Then all the care installing over the tidy wooden floor...A+ man! nelson.
