Hi Janet, this rail was the

Hi Janet, this rail was the existing rail in the condo, but the curved rail on the landing I bent cold with the Hossfeld and about a 10' cheater extension on the arm. It was a work out but we got it to work. Definitely put the pins through the blocks to help support them. 1-1/2"x3" rectangle tubing fits nicely over the existing arm

Hossfeld talk

I'm currently bending the 1X1/2 flat solid for my railing rehab...last time we built a jig on the table ...and bent it with heat some bowing then we had to reheat it + smack in down..annoying. This time we bent it on the flange with the extension arm ( I have two that fit within each other)
I bent it on the bottom part of the Hossfeld..Is that the way you do it?? I was never taught that way..in my last shop we bent everything on the top of the bender...Wrong!!!!
It worked great! SteelyJan

I bent it on the lower part

I bent it on the lower part between the forks. I think I would have ruined the pins for sure if I would have tried to bend it cold on the top.
