Weather Vane

Jake: Is this for a pyramid roof? It seems to be acrisply made piece of work that will endure the ravages of time temperature and UV. Nice job!

Thanks Nic, It goes on top

Thanks Nic,
It goes on top of a cupola on a house. The base is shaped that way because the architect wanted it to sit in the valleys of the intersection of two peaked roofs that cross at 90 degrees(did that make sense?), instead of on the ridges. Mostly for looks i think. It actually was a bit of a challenge for me and I'm still not sure if I think it was the best idea. Since there's going to be 8 extra holes near the flashing in the roof valleys (this has to be bolted down pretty good since we're in tornado alley) it seems like it might create an opportunity for leaks, but we'll see. The arch may have some tricks up his sleeve.
