Here's the pic of the fleur-de-lis detail:

The "bulb" parts started off as 7/8" sq. stock put under my power hammer. The bottom die on the hammer was made of two heavy sold round chunks, put side by side, so that when the 7/8" sq. was set in the die, on the diagonal, the forging makes for that deep ridge on the face. I found it best to just rough cut the bulb and stem out with my band saw and cold finish to shape.

This is my first submission to any social net working site ever. I suppose my reasoning has been that if it is not pertinent to metal work why waste my time at the keyboard with it.

I am submitting a pic of my favorite work among all the the iron things which have come out of my shop. It's a very simple piece and not so big...only about 23" high.

These are wall sconces destined to have LOW VOLTAGE UPLIGHTING. They are designed to be installed on either side and illuminate a painting for my client.They are fabricated from 1/8th inch stainless steel with a backing plate of 16 gauge.

About a year ago I decided this would be nice middle ground between pencil drawing and motorcycle fabrication. I am really enjoying it. After a bunch of getting the feel of things type projects I feel bold enough to share a finished piece with the group.

I'm a relatively new artist self taught working in copper. I would appreciate constructive comments or pointers...
