| This is the final output for an architectural rendering of the dragonfly railings as seen in perspective. The previous page explained reasons for creating the scaled version and this page shows how easy it is to create a perspective rendering based on still frames taken with a video camera and used as a digital carbon paper to trace the main perspective lines for the room. To place the scaled drawing I clipped the drawing in half so that I could skew each section of the railings individually. The Canvas 5 program I use allows you to transform any vector object by selecting one of four points and stretching or shrinking each of the corner points. This action will proportionately distribute the affected vector objects to the new perspective. This method of creating perspectives is not a perfect solution, but it takes very little time to give a 3D effect to 2D objects. I hope that you have had a chance to view all the pages associated with this article, and that you have now got a better idea of what it takes to create digital designs for architectural settings. This process does take time, but it is well worth the investment because in the end, the communications between designer and client will be clear and all parties will feel comfortable with proceeding with the commissioning of unique functional art for their living spaces. |
