| One of the greatest contributions that computers have made to the digital revolution, is in the ability to scale and manipulate vector based drawings. The previous page showed a perspective of this Nouveau style railing that was basically copied, pasted, and skewed to fit the perspective set by the architecture. This scaled version is very important to the complete design package because it will be used to create a 1:1 scaled version which will be printed on 2' wide tiled paper for later use as a working template to create the actual Nouveau styled railing. It is also important to use scaled drawings to verify local code requirements for spacing of railings. Since our local code allows a 6" opening where the design of the pickets are NOT parallel, I used a 5.5" circle to help determine the acceptable opening to exceed the code requirement. To see more Nouveau styled railings and get an insight to some of the digital processes I use to create perspectives and accurate site renditions, go to the next page. |
