Many thanks guys, The paint i used was a hi-build vinyl, that was hand painted to each disc( each colour is a separate disc attached to the disc beneath it.) The gates were very heavy as a result of the number of steel discs, so the foundations were 800mm deep and 400mm wide and 1m long. There was a 150mm pad onto which the post and plate sat on, then we mixed and poured 1 ton of concrete into the holes and allowed that to set before fitting the gates. Probably overkill on the foundations but i would rather have a belt and braces job!
