there was a time when I kept winning the lottery ....one after another commission was funded by lottery grants and /or the crafts council .... but as time went on I found the committees drove me up the wall so I started looking for patronage from business. The percent for art aspect of new developments made it easy to find sites and the local involvement of schools was a good carrot.
Nowedays I try to fund such projects myself because it gives me more freedom ... so I do the Robin Hood thing ....
