20 gage is not the problem, I am. I did not have the right wire. I used .03 instesd of using .023 I'm sure that would have made my life a little easier rather than burn holes constantly. So my inexperience with thin metal kicked my, well you know what!
Anyway, I prefer thicker stuff, I'll just have to hone my skill with thiner material. But for the record I did weld all of this including the base with .03 and I did get better with practice.
