Everybody,
So I went to the little upscale garden/landscape center down the street from my house and peddled my wares. They freaked out over it and wanted me to bring stuff to try out right away. Of course I have something else to do today and couldn't bring them anything until Monday. It was scary to just screw on my little cap and say here's my stuff.. do you like it? So I drove away feeling good.
Next I went to the local spring garden expo to look around and ran into a friend of mine. The Hewells are BIG folk potters in north Ga and they have something called "The Turnin and Burnin" every October. Last year they had 60,000 people, most from Atlanta. People drive along way to spend money on folk art. Anyway, I thought what the heck and showed them my book since I had it with me. They talked and looked and decided that it would fit in good with their event. So they gave me their approval and I will be there with bells and my wares in Oct. The best part is they don't charge a booth fee, they foot most of the bill for this event themselves. So it is a good place to try the festival thing without paying allot for a booth up front.
This is to say thanks to you guys for encouraging me to just go do it!
Thanks again, Mele
