This fireplace screen was custom made for a client in New Zeland. I used copper, brass, and hand forged steel to create the natural colors. Patinas were used on the cattails. The brass decorations were soldered to the steel parts. The main reason for creating the freestanding screen vs. an insert was so the client could take it with him after moving from his home. It also simplified any installation efforts due to the fact that I live in the US. The screen is approximately three feet high by five feet wide.
