I know what you mean. It's always something. :)
Considering your $$$ situation and the price of both sterling and gold these days. I'd suggest that you concentrate on copper and brass. When I think of your repousse/chasing abilities........angle raising would be "walk in the park" for you.Have you given some thought to making your own vessels? It's the only way that you'll be able to get the price down. Even some of the simple copper vessels I've found online are $100 each. Copper vessels with your detailed repousse/chasing would be very marketable, IMO. And they could be plated, if desired.
