many members on this site have commented on your experience with finishing stainless steel and electropolishing in particular. I am considering using stainless for an outdoor project and will experiment with some of the techniques mentioned above. Have you had any experience with vandalism on any of your work, particularly "tagging" with spraypaint or paint pens? Does one finish clean up better or worse than another? This sort of vandalism has been a problem around here and clean up/repair is a concern of the client.
I'm also interested in learning more about electropolishing. Can you explain a little how it works or point me towards a website that might explain it? From my scant understanding, it will put a satin "polish" on whatever finish you have put on the stainless steel. If I want it smooth and clean or a grain on it, that finish has to be there before electropolishing, correct?
