the happiness and innocence of childlike thinking is where we become disconnected with the true meaning of life which to enjoy every moment given, for the past is just a toy taken away, and the future is the promise of candy that has not been fufilled.
Having a child has taught me two vauleable lessons:
do not promise anything to a child unless you are 100% sure you can provide that, in turn they have expectations that can not be passified for the sake of them not asking more then once. kids need to be encouraged to share and enjoy material possesions, so they learn to accept the fact of when they get old enough they have to get it for them selves, and it won't be easy unless they really desire and work hard to reap the rewards. When you promise and child something so they stop asking they hold that which you offer dearly and when they do not recieve what they wait for they grow impatient and act outwardly in a negative manner. basicly let them eat cake!
when they ask you to play with them, no excuse is accepted.
saying that you are 'tired' or 'you just got home and want to relax' is what they will say to you when you want them to do something. children develop the personalites from thier parents, so don't think it ok to shoo them away for your own personal needs. any time my son asked me to play with him no matter what I get down on the floor and play, be it wresting, toy cars, lego's, drawing with crayons, puzzles, my favorite "hide and seek" and even what's that on your face, where we gently pretend to pull of each others face and body parts and say "look at me, now I have a nose like my dad..."
my son always asked me why I like to play with him and i respond 'I was a litte boy once just like you and all i wanted was for someone to play with me'
the smile on his face is the most important thing in my life and seeing that makes me feel that all of the wrong or bad I have done in my life was worth living to this moment now.
Tommorow our seed will grow and dedication is what they need today.
No Metal left behind, once was lost but now is all welded together!
Thats what I am looking
Thats what I am looking for...
