The outfit you propose to consider is specially made to be portable (for refrigeration and air conditioning): you could even hang it on your shoulders to work with it anywhere. If you have no need to work on a ladder, regular gas cylinders would probably cost you less.

Did you consider arc welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding - SMAW or stick) with a simple transformer (power source)?
