Yeah, he does some really incredible stuff, doesn't he? With only one or two exceptions, none of it is Photoshopped, either. He's worked out all these sophisticated computer controls to handle thellighting, the shutter, the water drops, etc. His setup looks like someting Rube goldberg woould be proud of, but boy does it work well!
If Martin would package his setup commercially, he could sell it as an expensive adult toy, as long as it carried a warning that it is highly addictive. (grin) I've spent many nights at his house, playing with his camera setup, doing one shot after another until the wee hours of the night, fiddling with the timing, the sequencing, etc, trying out different effects. He's gotten the thing so well controlled that even I, a complete novice at photography, can get somewhat predictable results. It's a good thing I don't have something like that at my house, or I'd never get any work done.
I think it's really great that he has gotten quite a bit of worldwide recognition for his work and is now getting some good commissions out of it. He's been working at it for a good ten years now. The results are certainly worth the effort.
