just powder coat,
finally found a way to do a good looking and durable two tone finish for exterior, and I've tried it all, really.
-basically bake on the primer and then first coat (gold in my case).
-then spray on the second coat (black bronze in my case) and before baking, use your finger to wipe off the edges, and pat it, and blow on it, and stand on your head and cross your toes.
It takes for ever but the results are well worth it. just be sure to do plenty of sample pieces, if its wrong its really bad
its funny i just spoke with my powder coater (Advanced Powder Coating) today and every other local ironworker wants him to do this finish.
