Thank you for your interest.

I very much appreciate your comments. Made it myself, I did. With my smashing contraption. I like that name for it better because smashing contraptions don't bring a bunch of excess baggage with them. Smashing contraptions aren't as expensive, either. This piece starts as a circle of metal. locate a point about 1/3 of the distance of the radious from the edge. From that point use the smashing contraption and a curved pc of wire to create creases radiating from that point. I chose to increase the distance between them expotentially. Slightly each time like a sprial does. Anneal this metal. Flip it over and use the smashing contraption to create creases between the existing creases.Anneal this metal. You have broken the "surface tension" It's not flat anymore, of this metal. Now think of this sheet of metal as the doily in your post, If you haven't already. Do what your hands want to do. To the metal. Life is indeed better with a smashing contraption. When this gets hard to do anneal the metal. You are going to get good at annealing. Master of the SMASHING CONTRAPTION "always seeking low tech solutions in a hydraulic world" Brad send pics of smashing contraption.
