Residency Metal Art

The post from Industryelle reminded me of the project I worked on at a school last year as Artist in Residency. Yes, I took my oxy acetylene tanks to a school and worked with kids grades 4-8. We decided to make a steel book. The project was called creative literacy. Each class of students had to brainstorm page design ideas. Yes, I made them agree to create one page of a steel book that was bound together by a car spring. This is one of the pictures from the residency.Artist in Residence with steel book pages in the foreground.Artist in Residence with steel book pages in the foreground.
