Grinding Day

|

Today is grinding day. I think I have email chatted way more than grinded. If that is even a word. I try to remember that it is all a part of the whole. Grinding is no fun. To me. Because I have decided that grinding is no fun, so I made it so. It is all what we create in our minds. I have created the fact that grinding sucks. And the part of me that needs to be right has decided that I am going to be right over being happy.

But today I started to change that. I have had trouble with the words 'at this moment everything is fine', that whole living in the moment, living in the now thing. But what I have found is, being a visual artist, 'at this moment it is beautiful'. I have checked in throughout the day. Looking at the metal and sparks and light and work in front of me, instead of groaning about how much more I have to do, how much my back aches, I look at how beautiful it all is. I acknowlege that. And then I see it. It really is all so beautiful.

As we make art, there is the fun stuff and the not so fun stuff. but who decided that? We did. Therefore we can decide that it is all fun, it is all beautiful.

We get so awestruck, so amazed when we get to tour other artists' studios. We must cultivate that within ourselves. Our own studios are beautiful. We need to see it from different eyes. Then we can work awestruck in our own beauty...
