Marsh Grass 1

Marsh Grass 1

I've gotten pretty fond of hammered metal. The rods began to look like grass fronds to me.
I switched to copper from bronze a while ago as I liked the patina of the copper.
I've found a place with some really good rocks here in Houston that I can buy for cheap. This rock is from a Canadian river bed.
I drilled holes in the stone, hammered copper wire, rods and then annealed them. Then I chuck them in vinegar and salt to add tooth to them, then add a copper patina I got from "Compleat Sculptor" - my new favorite shopping site.
Used an epoxy to set the copper in the holes and then twisted and shaped the metal to look like grass. Viola!
