My Left Hand

This is a recent sculpture I've done. I started back into art a year ago, after too long of a hiatus. I've taken welding classes but still gone back to brazing and ocy/acetelyne.
My work has started to encompass a lot of recycled metal that I've "rescued" from dumpsters. Haven't gotten arrested yet, but have lots of good metal to work from.
This piece is about 32" high. I used parts from an old typewriter for the bones, cabling for the muscles, plus brass tubing for ligaments. I worked from my old "Anatomy for the Artist" book that I got way back when.
I've found a great place in Houston for getting stone - some of it like the granite used for this base - are from gravestones that have been replaced.
I'll post some of the work I'm currently doing later.
