Seems I have no problem attaching an image to a blog post. Must "enable rich-text" to get the gui. Also enable rich-text in "Input format."

What happens when image is placed using the camera icon is that a placeholder with the icon shows where the image will be when you post it.

Note that this post is being put in by webminster while hijacking Michael's id. I'm doing it just to make sure that Michael can in fact add images. Proof is in the pudding...
