Arnold , why don't you fill the tube with one of the micro chrystaline waxes available from your Gasoline dealer or modeling wax or bee's wax (you might have to put the latter , tube and all in ice water an hour before you bend it to harden the wax depending on your ambient temperature ) .

I would be a bit dubious about the come along idea though , it might work , any bending I do like this I construct a former out of ply or craftwood or red gum (very hard Australian hardwood )anchor one side of the tube to the former and using a radius arm with a sheeve . Don't forget the former has to be smaller than your finished bend and will need to be finished in a lathe any lumps will cause local stress that will be the begining of a kink .
