So you guys want to learn about working with copper. You make it sound like it would be so easy to learn. First find a college or high school that gives welding classes. Then buy yourself a oxy/atyl torch. Now find a place that teaches how to hammer copper or a good book. Now go out and buy yourself a bunch of hammers and stakes. If you do not have a bunch of hand tools, files, grinders, tin snips or what ever go out and buy those.

After spending a few thousand dollars you need a place that you do not mind making dirty and smokey. Also you are going to make a lot noise so watch out for the neighbor complaints.

Have you a supplier for your copper? When you do look at the price, but do not worry you will be able to sell that first piece for loads of money. So after investing in everything make that garden piece. Not that easy is it? I have been doing it for almost thirty years, constantly taking classes and developing new techniques to give that special touch. After investing $40,000 in tools and whatever and a shop to work in and worrying about health and EPA issues the profit is not there. If you enjoy challenges then take the risk and find somebody in your area that does the type of work that you want to learn and ask to be there assistant for free for the next three years. Oh yea if they do not have green stains on there hands they are not that much into copper.
