Of ALL the folks out there, YOU probably can answer this question... : My Wife and I want to have wedding rings, but both are "tough" on rings (scratches, grinding...) Even alloyed precious metals seem too soft. As a Geologist, with some metalurgical knowledge, I was wondering about NICKEL, or an nickel alloy--seems VERY hard and non-tarnishing. Anybody out there do nickel rings? I'm ready to buy some nickel rod and have a high quality machine shop lathe us up some rings, but I'm concerned about the finish quality--can I tumble them with fine carborundum grit for a finish? ANY advice would be helpful. Thx! Walt and Pam Keyes. Follow UpsPost FollowupBramblebush ForumsFAQ |
