hi folks - plz excuse the naive questions - i just started to

learn about welding.

i've been trying to MIG weld aluminum. i've tried all possible

wire speed and heat settings on my welder (campbell

hausfeld WG3000 MIG/Flux welder, 110V, 0.03" aluminum

solid wire ER4043). all i ever get are little blobs of melted

wire on top of the joint i'm trying to weld. the metal doesn't

melt and no bond is made.... i.e. it don't work!

i'm using 80% Argon/20% CO2. i saw in this area a guy

who used 100% Argon - is that my problem?

also, it was recommended somewhere here to brush the

pieces beforehard with a SS brush. if my Al pieces are

clean, is this necessary?

thanks in advance!!!!!!
