Bill whatever you do ... Do Not Attempt to fill a O2 bottle without experienced help. A small amount of oil or grease in the line or fittings while filling can cause a explosion also filling the bottle too fast can cause it to heat up and explode. Even with proper equipment the bottle should be contained in a thick metal enclosure before filling. Sorry for the not so encouraging news about home refilling of 02 tanks. As you suggested you will be better off finding or getting someone to make a adapter for a refillable 02 tank.
