Topic: Brass solderingFollow UpsBramblebush ForumsFAQ Posted by Jan Nordkvist on October 05, 19100 at 05:36:24: I am building a trombone of 17:th century type. What kind of soldering can I use to get a malleable seam on the brass tubings? I have tryed silver soldering, which tends to crack when the metal is stressed or compressed. The old instrumentmakers (17:th century) used a solder with a large amount of Zink, but I can not find a corresponding type in the catalogues.
