Rebar forges pretty well at a yellow heat. Forge it into a dimond cross section then twist arround the axis of the bar. The trouble with this post is that we dont know the purpose of this threading. If it is just to stick it into a piece of wood welding on a lag bolt is great. ( use lots of penetration and hammer stress relieve / refine the shape while its still red hot.)
