Hi

I am replacing the friction pads on my 25 lb. LG. I had the bearings repoured. Now I am putting it back together. I contact cemented the pads in place and put it on the shaft to check clearance between the pads and the pulley. with Just gravity the friction surface of the spider and pads goes completely into the pulley. let's see if I can describe this

friction spider with pads on the left and the pulley on the right. Slide the friction spider into the pulley.

The left most side of the spider friction surface is even with the left most side of the friction surface of the pulley.

It does not bury past even but I am sure with some oil and pressure and breaking in it is going to start going in farther.

There is only another 1/2" of room for it to go in farther.

So My question is with just simple hand pressure about how far should the spider friction surface stick out of the pulley friction surface?

Thanks a bunch
