Oppi Untracht's "Metal Techniques for Craftsmen" very briefly mentions the technique being used in India for a process in which fine silver is inlaid in steel-- when the steel is "blued" it contrasts beautifully with the white of the fine silver. Oppi also mentions a mexican process which turns steel peacock blue. Hope this isn't too late. Rebecca River
