Dont put the magnet too near the weld or the arc may Blow. As it Happens mag clamps can cause arc blow any where on the job. The weld arc is magneticly charged as is the clamp. So if your arc does blow, reset the clamp or the earth lead Elsewhere on the job, this usually fixes it for me. Otherwise they are a handy bit of gear.
