Most times when one wants to glue a non-porous sheet material to a wood base, contact cement is used. Rough up the copper sheet with around 80 grit sandpaper, apply contact cement to both surfaces and let it dry according to directions on the can [probably for between an hour or two, by which time it is not at all tacky, but dont wait too long]. The technique for application is to stick the two sheets together and use a hard roller to press the surfaces together.

However, alcohol is one solvent for contact cement, so don't use it if someone may spill an alcoholic drink on it, and it's bond wont hold up well outdoors.

There are plenty of other choices. Ask around for opinions on your specific application... When picking the proper adhesive, a lot depends on what the conditions of use will be.
