I'm a blacksmith not a foundryman, but all of the furnaces that I have seen were fairly basic. A round insulated chamber with a couple of gas burners stick into it. I think that your use of the word cupola may be hindering your search.

There are lots of designs available for blacksmiths gas forges. The melt furnaces that I have seen are basically gas forges stood on end. ABANA has plans available although I don't know their internet adress.

I am willing to bet there are gas forge plans somewhere here in Artmetal.
