Thanks for the feedback. Lost wax is a good idea, and I'll probably apply the thought to "lost Styrofoam" because my location in northern Minnesota (not the end of the world but you can see it from here...) means the molding I do has to be done with sand so I can have my annual fun at the Herman Iron Pour three hours south of here.

A one-piece pour sounds better to me. Holes can be worked into the design of the exterior no problem, and this sphere will roll like a marble around a track when it is done, so I want to avoid seams (and finish work...).

I am very glad to know I won't need undercuts to make the copper stick, and that I will be able to melt it into the piece with a torch, as I hoped I would be able to do.
