Melting Down Copper

Bramblebush ForumsFAQ

I have various copper fittings and bushings that I would like to melt down into shapes reasonably workable to raise and sink

bowls. I plan on building a furnace out of bricks but I don't know whether wood will burn hot enough with forced air. Nor

do I know what to use as a mold. My wife will let me use a cast iron pan but I'm worried it will stick to the sides. Will it?

Also how basically do I go about skimming the impurities out.

Thankyou for any help you can offer
