The slush casting method should work in a plaster mold , but you would probably want something like a plastic rotomolding machine which just rotates the mold arround in all directions as the material sets up.The mold would idealy ( probabably must be) heated first or a few poor casts made while the mold reaches a good temperature. In this case you would want to pull the "ballons" from the mold as soon as the lead has set up.I have cast Pewter in reuseable plaster molds and in permanent metal molds.

Sloshing hot metal arround by hand makes me uncomfortable.
