Hi,
I mould ceramic artefacts from a composition which is essentially water + polymeric binder + ceramic powder ( not clay).
I achieve solids concentrations of the order 70% volume in the
composition. However, because the system is water based I have problems with shrinkage induced drying cracks. Does any one have any suggestions for eliminating, or reducing, the shrinkage cracks on drying - still using water based system? Perhaps someone has experience with pottery or shell making which could be useful with my ceramic. Any suggestions (w.r.t this topic) are
welcome.
