I'm not sure what you mean by "dry sand". Is this a non-air set sand and/or oil based sand?

The foam should burn-out as you are pouring into your cup. Use lots of ventalation as the foam is toxic and smokey. Also vent your sand well., it's going to be a smokey mess...Good luck
