Bruce, Thanks for providing your drawings, I wondered how you poured 300 lbs of bronze by yourself. What type of lift is the chain connected to? I was planning to make a natural gas melting furnace, but Georgia now has deregulated natural gas-- in addition to paying for the gas we use we get to pay a monthly base charge, so I am looking for alternatives. Northern (tools, handyman)sells a 750,000BTU propane torch that requires a 100lb tank,(item 173845-C132). With a #50 to #100 crucible would that be enough heat to melt bronze in a reasonable amount of time? or should I go with 2 torches? Has anyone made an electric furnace? Types of elements etc. Any ideas?
