Everdur is my most favorite casting bronze and I would even trade all my other bulk misc. ingots for it at a 50% loss in weight.

I love it for the ability to color match when later doing the patina with a commercial silicone bronze welding rod,

for the lack of extra dross when melting,

for the great clarity of metal when pouring (even the long top sections of the sprues where the last of the missed crap might flow in is usually a clear and non porous pure metal)

and for the total lack of zinc oxides leaving it when you do the welding (making it the best tig welding bronze I know of).

I'm not a metallurgist and I bet others could comment much better (Mark Parmenter are you out there?) on any pros and cons but you can bet you bippy that I would not add any zinc.
