Looking for lost wax castersBramblebush ForumsFAQ Posted by Dave Campbell on October 20, 1998 at 15:16:33: I'm writing a magazine article about furniture restoration. One of my sources says when he's missing a brass knob, pull, or other hardware, he has a one-piece injection mold made, and a new part cast using that mold. That's fine for this guy who lives in New York City, but the scope of this article is more worldwide. How can I tell me readers how to find a moldmaker and caster in their area? Is there a professional association, a clearinghouse, a website, etc. where the average Joe can turn to find a moldmaker/caster? Is there an industry (jeweler, trophy/award manufacturer. etc.) that would have the neccesary equipment to make a mold/casting of this size? Please respond by e-mail as I do not have access to newsgroups at work. Thanks! dc
